SURF RANCH · NICARAGUA
Plan a yoga, surf or group retreat in San Juan del Sur

Build the stay around the people
Start with the number of participants and hosts, then decide which guests are comfortable sharing a room or a bed. Standard rooms sleep up to two. Condos sleep up to four with two queen beds. Villas also sleep up to four and offer outdoor space. A group of twelve can start by checking three units for four, but that arrangement only works if everyone accepts the bed layout. Overall capacity depends on the rooms available for your dates. A room search does not guarantee private use of the resort.
Yoga and workshops
Bring your own teacher and plan the session around the group. Request the yoga or workshop space for the intended time and confirm equipment and availability before sharing a final schedule. A morning session followed by breakfast leaves time for a pool afternoon. If some guests want to surf as well, ask about the Remanso lesson time before fixing the yoga timetable. Private use, equipment and activities need to be confirmed with the resort.
Surf and active retreats
A surf lesson costs USD 60 plus tax per person and includes transport to Playa Remanso, board and lesson. Count participants who actually want instruction rather than adding a lesson for every guest automatically. Those staying at the resort can plan pool time, volleyball, the gym or the skatepark. The climbing wall has a separate charge. A team gathering can use the same approach by keeping a shared meal or workshop as its meeting point and leaving optional activities around it.
Breakfast or All Inclusive
Direct room bookings include breakfast. The direct All Inclusive upgrade is USD 40 plus tax per adult per night and USD 30 plus tax per child per night. It includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and included drinks during service hours. Coverage starts at check in at 2 pm and ends at checkout at noon. For retreat leaders, this is useful when participants expect to eat together on site. Compare breakfast instead if several meals are planned away from the resort.
A room plan for eight or twelve guests
For eight people, start with two units for four and then ask who actually wants to share each bed. A condo has two queen beds, so one condo for four means two people per bed. A host who needs a private room changes that calculation even when the headcount stays the same. For twelve guests, compare three units for four with a mix of standard rooms and larger units. Give each guest a room and a bed on paper before you commit to a price. That is a better check than simply counting the number of doors.
A sample retreat day around one shared meal
For a yoga group, use breakfast as a meeting point and leave room on either side for the session you are leading. Breakfast runs from 8 to 10 am. If you prefer a morning practice before breakfast, confirm the space and time with the resort before sending the schedule to participants. Later in the day, those who want quiet time can rest while others use the pool or gym. Agree when everyone is expected back together. A retreat can have a shared purpose without requiring every participant to join every optional activity.
Price a surf session for the people taking it
Suppose eight people are travelling but only four want a lesson. At USD 60 plus tax per participant, the four lessons come to USD 240 plus tax. That price includes transport to Playa Remanso, a board and the lesson for each participant. Do not add the lesson cost for the four people staying at the resort. If the group is comparing this with a surf package, use the same dates and room arrangement, then check how many sessions and meals are included. Ask reception to confirm lesson times around conditions rather than setting a rigid timetable before arrival.
Work out the meal budget per night
For six adults staying two nights, the direct All Inclusive upgrade is six times two times USD 40, or USD 480 plus tax, in addition to the room price. Compare that with breakfast included if the group wants to eat in town one evening or spend lunch at the beach. Tell the resort about dietary needs while planning the retreat and confirm what can be provided for the group. A room price alone does not answer that question. If a class occupies the usual lunch period, discuss the meal schedule before promising a time to participants.
Coordinate arrivals and the final morning
Ask participants for their arrival airport, flight time and the number travelling together. A private transfer from Managua Airport is priced by group. The published one way price is USD 130 for one or two passengers and USD 150 for three or four. If two people arrive hours apart, decide whether they actually want to share a ride before budgeting one transfer. Surf Ranch does not run a shuttle to or from San Juan del Sur town. On departure day, work back from the flight time and allow time to gather bags. Checkout at noon is a room deadline, not a suggested airport departure time.
Frequently asked questions
What should the organizer prepare?
Bring your dates, guest count including hosts, preferred sleeping arrangements, dietary needs and requested activities. Start with booking availability and use the contact option there for the group’s questions.
Can four guests have four separate beds in one condo?
A condo has two queen beds. If participants need separate beds or private rooms, compare other room combinations for the dates and share the proposed layout before booking.
Does All Inclusive cover the retreat’s surf lessons?
The regular All Inclusive option covers meals and included drinks. Compare a separate lesson or the All Inclusive Surf Package when surf instruction is part of the plan.
Does reserving several rooms give us exclusive use?
No. Ask about private use, workshop space and any equipment as part of your proposal. Confirm availability and terms before advertising them to your participants.
